Information You Provide Directly:

• Account and Profile Information: We collect your email address and full name when you create an account. You may also provide a username, profile image, biography, dietary preferences, favorite cuisines, cooking experience, household size, serving preferences, kitchen equipment, cooking goals, theme settings, and notification preferences.
• Recipes, Meal Plans, Shopping Lists, and Pantry Data: We collect content you create, import, or save, including recipes, ingredients, instructions, images, source links, meal plans, shopping-list items, brands, quantities, product preferences, pantry inventory, stock status, purchase dates, expiration estimates, and notes.
• Scans and Uploaded Content: When you scan or upload a receipt, barcode, pantry image, recipe image, or other photo, we may process the image and extracted details such as retailer name, purchase date, product names, quantities, prices, barcode identifiers, and expiration estimates. A receipt-scan result is an organizational aid and is not a receipt or proof of purchase.
• Community and User-Generated Content: We collect photos, captions, stories, recipes, collections, and other content you choose to create or share through the Service.
• Household Information: If you create, join, or invite someone to a household, we collect household names, member email addresses, invitation details, and the pantry, shopping-list, or meal-plan information shared through that household.
• Support and Feedback: When you contact us, we collect your message, email address, page context, and any files or details you choose to submit.
• Connected Retailer Information: If you connect a supported retailer account, we may store authorization tokens needed to maintain that connection. We do not receive or store your retailer password.

Information Collected Through Device Features and Permissions:

• Camera and Photo Library: With your permission, the Service can access the camera or photos you explicitly select for receipt scanning, barcode scanning, pantry recognition, recipe import, profile images, and related features. We do not access photos you did not select. Images and extracted results may be retained when you save them or when reasonably needed to provide and secure the requested feature.
• Microphone and Voice Input: With your permission, voice features process speech to create text commands, shopping items, pantry updates, or meal-plan requests. Depending on your device and the feature, transcription or interpretation may occur on the device or through a service provider. We do not intentionally retain raw audio after processing unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise.
• Apple Reminders: If you enable Reminders integration, the Service may access the reminder list you select and process reminder titles, completion status, list identifiers, reminder identifiers, synchronization state, and links to corresponding shopping-list items. We do not access unrelated reminder lists. You can disconnect the integration or revoke permission in device settings.
• Push Notifications and Live Activities: If enabled, we collect device notification tokens, device platform, notification preferences, and delivery or activity status so we can provide meal reminders, expiration alerts, shopping updates, and Live Activities. You can disable notifications in the app or device settings.
• Location for Nearby Stores: If you use a nearby-store feature and grant location access, your location may be processed to identify relevant stores. You can decline or revoke location access in device settings.

Information Collected Automatically:

• Usage and Device Data: We collect information about interactions with the Service, such as pages visited, features used, recipes viewed or saved, and actions taken. This may include IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, timestamps, and diagnostic data.
• Cookies and Local Storage: We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, preserve feature state, and understand usage patterns.
• Analytics and Attribution: We may collect visitor or session identifiers, page paths, event names, feature metadata, and referral or campaign parameters to measure use, improve the Service, and understand how people discover PantrySearch.com. Analytics may apply to both guests and signed-in users.
• Email Engagement: When we send service or marketing messages, we may process delivery, open, or link-interaction information where permitted by law and supported by our email provider.
• Retailer and Product Data: We may retrieve and cache product names, images, prices, availability, nutrition information, store details, and identifiers such as UPC codes from supported retailers or product-data providers.

• Provide the Service: To operate accounts, recipes, meal plans, pantry inventory, shopping lists, household sharing, scans, retailer tools, reminders synchronization, notifications, and other requested features.
• Personalize Recommendations: To tailor recipes, meal suggestions, product matches, quantities, pantry recommendations, and other content using your preferences and saved information.
• Communicate: To respond to support requests, collect feedback, send service notices, and provide notifications or marketing messages where permitted.
• Improve and Secure the Service: To analyze performance, troubleshoot problems, prevent fraud or abuse, protect accounts, and develop or improve features.
• Attribute Shared Content: To associate public recipes, stories, and other user-generated content with their creators.
• Comply With Law: To meet legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect the rights and safety of PantrySearch.com, our users, and others.

• When you use a retailer integration or Pantry Search Auto Shopper, we may send your unchecked shopping-list items, quantities, brands, product preferences, and search terms to the retailer or its shopping experience to find products and prepare a cart.
• Pantry Search Auto Shopper may use smart, automatic product selection to choose product and package matches. You remain responsible for reviewing every item, quantity, price, substitution, fulfillment option, and purchase before checkout.
• Matched product names and quantities may be used to update your shopping list or pantry after a shopping session. When an opt-out control is offered and selected, Pantry Search will not save that session's matched purchase data to your pantry.
• PantrySearch.com does not place the order, complete checkout, process retailer payments, or treat an automated-shopping summary as proof of purchase. Your retailer account and Pantry Search account remain separate. We do not request your retailer password or cookies, and we do not send Pantry Search login tokens to the retailer.
• Some integrations use retailer authorization, product, search, cart, or linking services. The retailer's own privacy policy and terms govern information it receives and activity completed in its experience.

• The Service uses AI and automated processing for features such as recipe import and generation, meal planning, pantry and receipt analysis, barcode or item classification, nutrition estimates, image generation, duplicate detection, expiration estimates, product matching, and automatic shopping selection.
• On-Device Processing: Some supported features use models on your device. Content processed entirely on-device is not sent to our servers or a cloud AI provider for that model operation, although results may be saved to your Pantry Search account when you choose to save or apply them.
• Cloud Processing: Other features send the content reasonably needed to complete your request to cloud AI or processing providers. This may include images, recipe text, ingredient lists, dietary preferences, shopping items, pantry information, or other submitted content. Provider handling is governed by our arrangements with those providers and their applicable terms and privacy practices.
• We seek to avoid sending direct account identifiers such as your name or email address to AI providers when they are not needed for the requested feature. We do not authorize AI providers to use submitted content for unrelated advertising.
• AI-generated recommendations and extracted information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review recipes, allergens, nutrition information, expiration estimates, product matches, quantities, and cooking instructions before relying on them. Automated processing is used to assist you and does not independently complete a purchase or make a legal or similarly significant decision about you.

• Household Members: Information in a shared household, including pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans, and related changes, is available to participating household members. Household members may be able to add, update, or remove shared information.
• Other Users and the Public: If your profile or content is public, other users may see information such as your username, name, avatar, biography, recipes, stories, collections, and associated activity. Profile visibility settings control applicable public information.
• Retailers and Connected Services: We share information with a retailer or connected service when you request a feature that requires it, as described in this policy.
• Service Providers: We use providers for hosting, authentication, storage, AI processing, analytics, notifications, email, product data, security, and customer-support operations. Support submissions may be delivered to a private team communication service and can include your email address, message, and page context.
• Legal and Safety Reasons: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, enforce agreements, investigate abuse, or protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business Transfers: Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
• We do not currently sell personal information for money.

• We retain account and saved content while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, whether you saved it, operational and security needs, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements.
• Temporary scans, processing files, diagnostics, synchronization records, authorization tokens, notification tokens, support records, and analytics may be kept for different periods based on their purpose. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, unless law permits or requires longer retention.
• Disconnecting a retailer or device integration stops future access through that connection but may not automatically delete information already saved to your Pantry Search account. You can remove saved content in the app or request account deletion.

• Access and Correction: You can review and update much of your profile, preference, pantry, meal-plan, and shopping information within the Service.
• Deletion: You can request account deletion through the account controls in your profile or through the contact method below. We will process verified requests within the period required by applicable law. Some information may be retained when legally permitted or required.
• Permissions and Connections: You can revoke camera, microphone, photo, location, Reminders, or notification permissions in device settings and disconnect supported account integrations.
• Visibility and Sharing: You can manage applicable profile visibility and leave or change participation in shared household features, subject to the controls available in the Service.
• Marketing and Tracking Choices: You can use unsubscribe controls in marketing messages and available in-app controls for optional tracking or purchase-data saving.
• Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

• We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and protected authorization methods for supported integrations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
• Protect your account credentials and review retailer carts, shared-household access, connected services, and device permissions periodically.

• The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
• A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information can contact us using the method below.

• We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy, update the Last Updated date, and provide additional notice when required by law.
